LifeStraw: Makes Dirty Water Safe

    LifeStraw: Safely Drink Dirty Water

The LifeStraw is a simple and compact, yet powerful water filtration system which may be the solution to the world's water emergency.

Having safe, sanitary water to drink has been an issue for many people around the world, especially in the hot, arid plains of Africa.

Enter LifeStraw. This ingenious, potentially life-saving device enables the user to drink from all kinds of water sources that might otherwise be considered dirty and unsafe.

Invented by a scientist named Dr. Moshe Frommer at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel, the LifeStraw is a handheld plastic straw that filters water without the use of chemicals.

It was distributed to survivors of the 2010 Haiti earthquake, 2010 floods in Pakistan, and 2011 floods in Thailand.

Variations of the LifeStraw have been developed, such as the LifeStraw Community, which is a water tank that allows for more water to be stored and filtered, and the LifeStraw Go, a reusable filter bottle.

The LifeStraw is also available to buy on Amazon.com.
