it is a bit of silly reason because what if the ate the musket balls or they were born with them or something

A musket ball would refer to one of the lead balls fired from a musket in the Civil War between the North and South. This idea is certainly not conclusive and should not have credibility in the scientific world. The other suggestions are completely plauseable and the turtles could have consumed them many years after the war ended.
