I'm a veterinarian. Dogs have no sweat glands on their soles or anywhere else on their body. They regulate their heat by taking cold air to their tongue, drinking cold water and urinating when they have too much salt in their body fluid (hence why dog urine is ALWAYS yellow). Salivating is a normal process to moisten their mouths - it does not have anything to do with sweating.
