Maggots will only eat flesh if it is dead. For this reason, they are often used to remove the burnt skin from severe burn patients.

There are some maggots do eat live flesh. Some of my kittens have gotten them on them.

i saw on this show MONSTERS INSIDE ME that there was this one guy who had maggots growing inside his own head! that was so gross that i had a nightmare about it with me having moggots growing in my head. since then i don't trust bugs in my room in case they can lay eggs onto my head while i am sleeping cuz i don't want maggots growing in my head. that is just nasty!!!!
