You can't buy cashews in the shell because the shells are actually toxic.

Cashews arent actually nuts they are actually the stamen (male part) of a flower

for the last anonymous chasews arent part of a flower but part of the fruit, the tree first produce flower then from it comes the fruit with te seed outside(cashew)
and yeah they are very irritating specially for the eyes, they burn the skin also, when i was kid I used to grab them make a fire and put them there, they produce a lot of smoke and its very irritating, together with the oil
