Anonymous - Thats irrelivent, the ancient Egyptions worshipped many other animals such as dogs and birds, however both are still mentioned in the bible. I must admit, if every other domesticated animal has and is mentioned in the bible why not the cat?

Yes, it is to do with Egypt, the god Set, and the fact that so much of the Bible is centred in Egypt. If you remember that christianity was a tool of Roman Empire to dominate the beliefs of those they conquered, and to unify the divisive religions of Ancient Rome, then simple logic would dictate that the religious text that was supposed to be the word of God in writing would not mention God's competition. God was no fool!

Many animals both domestic and wild are not mentioned in the bible. Yet they are God's creation and He loves them. They also make great pets!

Very interesting feed back. To really understand the answer to this puzzeling question one must seee past the cat and open their eyes or mind to the representation of the feline. Symbolism is one key that no one has mentioned and that were the answer lays. Sometimes God has nothing to do with the fact that certain thing or subject are not mentioned in the bible.
