this is false; explosive decopression would only occur if a body had internal organs made of 100% gas, which humans are not. If you did find your self in space inprotected, your internal organs would atempt to evacuate your body out of your eyes and mouth. none of this would matter though as the cold in space would flash freeze your body. You could shatter like glass

In real life you wouldn't explode but because of the pressure but your blood would boil because of it and not to mention that there's no oxygen in space. That would be a painful death. Cant breathe, your blood is boiling and theres pressure on you all over.

You can actually last about 8 to 12 seconds...

you would explode. you can survive in the vacuum of space if your lungs are empty. for now, lets ignore the fact that space is really hot or really cold. an astronaught got caught outside the air lock, and he survided for 15 seconds before getting inside. he survived cause his lungs wer not filled with air.

you would not explode. you would die by suffication. you would however stretch less than a quarter of your size causing pain but you would not explode.

If your blood did boil, it would be a lack of pressure, not the presence of it. The more pressure on water, the more heat energy it takes to get the molecules to move. Think of it as if you were underneath a heavy object. It would be hard to move, correct? Now, remove the object and you are free to move as you please. No, you would not explode, and you would not implode. You r organs would also not try to come out of your eyes. You would just be the same you, only frozen from the inside out. You can breathe in space, like you can breathe underwater. It isn't recommended and will likely kill you, but your lungs will move.

unless any of you have actually seen somebody lost alone in space, or have yourself been lost alone in space, i seriously doubt you actually know what your talking about.

so here is my THEORY what i personally THINK would happen (not what would definatley happen because im a keyboard warrior who's opinion is fact and that is that .... get a grip of yourselves)


if you were in a pressuriesd environment such as a suit or shuttle. and this suddenly lost pressure, such as a large hole appearing in it. the sheer force of the pressure around you dispersing surely has to cause some kind of damage.

i dont know about exploding / imploding i dont think its likley, but i think in that situation you would definatley be physically damaged to the point of death.

however if you were introduced into the vacum of space slowly, in a similar way that deep sea divers are reintroduced to the surface, that your body would become accustum to the lack of pressure and you would simply freeze / suffocate with little or no physical damage being done.

You wouldn't be able to braeth, your bodily tissues would expand and yes several internal organs may rupture but not explode, you blod would actually boil you would also either be exposed to extremely high or low temperatures.

You would not explode. The fuilds in your body would expand- and yes, you'd die. Blood and guts would come out of your orfaces. It would hurt.
