I'm not a sailor... but if it's bad luck to bring anything aboard that's blue, then what started "navy blue"? Why are there lots of blue things on a lot of ships if blue is unlucky? this confuses me.

My family went out on our boat (a 40 foot Sea Ray Sundancer) last year on July 5th (a Friday) and a big storm made us lose our anchor and almost crash into the shore. Kinda weird...
