What is your source on this? According to pumpkin facts from the University of Illinois Extension -- in a state where nearly all of U.S. pumpkins are grown -- "Pumpkins are grown primarily for processing with a small percentage grown for ornamental sales through you-pick farms, farmers' market and retail sales." Even empiracally, the statement on this website seems well off base. Please back up your claim.
